The classic Eid outfit for men is a clean, well-fitted thobe worn over a light undershirt and sirwal, finished with smart shoes and a touch of fragrance. Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected around 9–10 March, so in much of the US you will also want a warm coat for the walk to Eid prayer.
Many Muslims make a point of wearing their best clothes, often something new, on the morning of Eid. A good Eid thobe does not need to be complicated. It needs to fit, feel comfortable through a long day of prayer and visits, and look right in family photos.

A thin cotton undershirt keeps the thobe clean and helps it hang well. Under white thobes, choose white or a color close to your skin tone so nothing shows through in bright light. Loose cotton trousers, known as sirwal, keep you comfortable and modest through prayer and a day of sitting on floors and sofas.
Leather sandals are traditional, but a March morning in Chicago or New York is no time for bare feet. Most men in the US wear leather loafers, clean leather sneakers or ankle boots with socks. Choose a color that matches your belt or watch strap, and give them a quick clean the night before.
Fragrance is part of Eid for many Muslim men. Oud, musk, amber and rose-based attars are popular. Apply lightly: a little on the wrists and the chest of the thobe is plenty. If you use oil-based attar, let it dry before you dress, especially on light colors.
Eid al-Fitr 2027 falls in early spring, and in many states that still means freezing mornings.
